What we do
Conduct monthly support group meetings with presentations by healthcare professionals and other guest speakers. Meetings are facilitated by breast cancer survivors.
Participates at health fairs, community events, faith-based institutions and other venues throughout the city and suburbs to disseminate breast cancer education information and organizational information.
Provides encouragement and assistance to women diagnosed with breast cancer by making telephone calls, hospital visits, home visits and providing transportation to medical appointments.
Provides counseling services through professional social workers to help women accept their breast cancer diagnosis.
Sponsors an annual retreat where women dedicate an entire weekend, in a peer-supported environment, to spiritual and physical reflection and renewal.
Co-sponsors the annual Celebration of Life conference for women, their family members and their significant others. The purpose is to bring together breast cancer survivors, health care professionals, politicians, community leaders and all other interested persons to discuss and disseminate information relating to breast health.
