Sandra D. Thomas

Sandra D. Thomas (Sandy) is a native of Philadelphia, PA, now residing in Yeadon, PA with her 20 year old daughter.  She acquired her accounting degree through study and graduation from Drexel University.  Opportunities and internships at local area businesses provided a stepping stone for her career.  She began her professional career by way of leadership training through the Inroads/Philadelphia organization  as an intern in the internal audit department of ARAMark Services in Philadelphia.  She then worked my way up to Assist. Controller of one of their commercial laundry plants in Cherry Hill, NJ.  After having her daughter, she returned to the workforce in 1991 as a field auditor for Meridian Bank in Philadelphia then became a credit analyst touring various lending groups.  While completing their successor’s, CoreStates, formal credit training program, she toured the Correspondent Banking and Cash Management areas. After working as a credit analyst at De Lage Landen leasing company for 1 ½ years, she came to First Union as a Portfolio Manager in the Community Lending and Investment Dept. from 1999 through 2007 covering a $200MM portfolio primarily in the PA and FL markets.  In 2007, Sandra joined the centralized business banking analyst team supporting parts of the PA and CA markets.  Then, she transitioned to a placement as a credit analyst in a local market supporting a $28MM portfolio. 

Sandra utilizes her education and work experience to assist the local community.  She  previously used that experience as a trustee/board member and finance chair for the church she attends to obtain financing for building renovations.  She has a strong affinity for the youth, believing that through access to structured activities, resources, and with opportunities they can become productive adult citizens and able to give back to their community.  In her spare time, Sandy cheers on her daughter in her extra-curricula artistic endeavors and enjoy movies and music.  She participates in the running of her local government in Yeadon, PA as Vice President of Borough Council.  Her career in auditing along with community and small business banking analysis benefits the residents of Yeadon as a council person.  As well, Sandy volunteers for Women of Faith and Hope, a breast cancer self-help group that provides programs to empower and enlighten women and men surviving with that disease.
